Employer Research
There are numerous situations in which students should research
employers. Such research is a part of identifying desired
interviews, preparing for an interview or employer visit, or
deciding whether an opportunity offered should be accepted.
The Career Services Web Site provides links to some very
prominent sites that will help with employer research. Keep
in mind, however, that the Business Reference section of Hodges Library, personal contacts,
news publications and other sources of information should also
be used.
WetFeetUT
UT has bought a site license for WetFeet's new
electronic access service which allows UT students to print off WetFeet reports at no cost to themselves. This is an excellent site for company, career,
and industry research. The site is password protected so you must contact career@utk.edu and type the subject
Request WetFeet Password to be sent the username and password information. For UT students ONLY!
D&B Million Dallar Database
D&B's North American Million Dollar Database provides the information professional, marketer and sales executive with information on
approximately 1,600,000 U.S. and Canadian leading public and private businesses. Company information includes industry information with
up to 24 individual 8-digit SICs, size criteria (employees and annual sales), type of ownership, principal executives and biographies.

UT Hodges Library provides an A-Z discipline-specific guide of resources and well as information about who to contact at UT for
additional assistance.

In addition to company and industry information, Hoover's has compiled links to external lists
to a variety of sources that rank companies and people in a number of ways.

Information on employment, career planning, job search tips and employer

It is a website for over 2,200 company annual reports.
- Symplicity.com
Symplicity provides in depth profiles on hundreds of companies, online resume
designer, electronic resume submission, personalized recruiting schedule
planner, and Q&A with top recruiters.
