Posting a Position
Overview
The University of Tennessee utilizes the Symplicty software system (HiRE-A-VOL) which recruiters find very user friendly. Below you will find some of the highlights of this system. You may select from the following:
- Post your job opportunities on our website.
- Schedule on-campus recruiting date(s).
- Monitor resume submittals and interview sign-ups
- Review resumes & select interviewees
- Search the Web Resume Book
- Register for Career Fairs
What to Do First
- In order to utilize the HiRE-A-VOL system, first you must register using the instructions below.
- Click on the HiRE-A-VOL button on the left hand menu to enter our HiRE-A-VOL system.
- Click on the tab to Register for a New UT Account.
- You will be asked to fill out a form.
- Your USER NAME will be your e-mail address.
- You will be assigned an initial password which you will be able to change. This password will be emailed to you.
- IMPORTANT - Your password is not viewable in the system. Please choose a password you will remember and/or write it down. Neither you nor our office will be able to view it from your account.
- If you forget your password, you'll need to click on the "Forgot my Password" tab on the HiRE-A-VOL login page to have your password reset and emailed to you.
Things to Keep in Mind
- To post a job at UT Career Services only, there is NO CHARGE. However, if want the job posting to appear at all NACELINK schools, there is a fee.
- Keep in mind that the more "qualifiers" you require (i.e., GPA, graduation date, major, etc.), the fewer resumes you will receive.
- If you mark a job as "Restricted," only those students who meet your criteria exactly will be able to submit resumes.
- Feedback from our students indicates that they are more prone to submit their resumes for consideration if specific locations are listed rather than nationwide.
- Students are also interested in any salary information you may provide.
- In some disciplines (i.e. engineering fields, logistics/supply chain, etc.), there may be far fewer graduates available than you might expect. You may want to discuss typical numbers with your college consultant.
