Suggestions I would give to undergraduate students with regard to courses, internships, and other means of preparation for my career field:
Take advantage of related coursework such as industrial/organ. psychology; sociology; etc. As much real experience through internships, volunteering, & related employment . HR is difficult to break in to without related experience.. and the question is " how do you get the experience ? " .

My career path in getting to this position:
A gen. business job with some HR mgmt.- enough to say i had some.. then employment interviewer, to Job Analyst, to Employment Mgr., to Director of HR, to VP of HR .

Other advice for students interested in gaining entry into and pursuing a career in this field:
Don't give up... look for non-traditional portals of entry.
