Job Information
Employer Name:
LABO Management
Present Job Title:
Account Executive, Site Development and Marketing
Brief description of my job responsibilities, e.g. a typical week in my job:
Communicate with all forms of media to get our ads, commercials, and radio spots out. Coordinate V.I.P.
events. Maintain opening budgets. Handle set up of utility accounts. Apply and file for licenses. All other
marketing responsibilities
Suggestions I would give to undergraduate students with regard to courses,
internships, and other means of preparation for my career field:
Get experience and sell yourself in every task you do. Even if you are filing files all day, you have the opportunity to
make on an impression on someone. You never know when that someone will be the CEO of a large corporation. They are always
looking for young talent. Often they will hire on the spot, especially if they know graduation is in the near future for you.
My career path in getting to this position:
I was approached by LABO Managements office manager while in class one evening. She needed general office help. I
was an administrative assistant for the first three months. For the next 1.5 yrs. I held the position of Human Resources Manager.
On the day of graduation I was offered the position of Account Executive.
Other advice for students interested in gaining entry into and pursuing a career
in this field:
Be aware that you are constantly selling yourself. You never know when you will blow someone away with your first impression.
Work hard through school, not just in school. Never once have I been asked about my GPA.
