Present Job Title:
Housing Management Specialist

Brief description of my job responsibilities, e.g. a typical week in my job:
In my present job, I conduct technical reviews of revitalization projects on Navy Family Housing. In this past fiscal year, we've awarded or are in the process of awarding approximately $61 million in revitalization projects throughout the Southeast and the Midwest. I deal with Architectural/Engineering firms daily.

Suggestions I would give to undergraduate students with regard to courses, internships, and other means of preparation for my career field:
It's been almost 20 years since I graduated, but computer and communication skills as important as the problem solving skills you learn in Engineering.

My career path in getting to this position:
I was recruited by the Charleston Naval Shipyard and I worked there for 5 years before I transfered to Southdiv. I then reviewed Special Projects and took over the Elevator Safety program for 10 years before transferring to this present job.

Other advice for students interested in gaining entry into and pursuing a career in this field:
Take the EIT before graduating.
Pursue your "Professional Engineering" license.
Follow your dream.
Enjoy what your doing.
