Present Job Title:
Technical Consultant

Brief description of my job responsibilities, e.g. a typical week in my job:
Provide technical consulting services in information security and networking.

Suggestions I would give to undergraduate students with regard to courses, internships, and other means of preparation for my career field:
Your university studies will prepare you technically for your chosen career. Emphasize activities, etc. that help you to develop your "soft" skills,
especially teamwork and communication skills.

My career path in getting to this position:
Started out working in the oilfield for Schlumberger Well Services in Texas. Got an unexpected transfer to Schlumberger Network Solutions. I always thought that I would be a practicing engineer, at least for several years after graduation. I am now doing something completely unrelated to my University studies; however, my job now falls more in line with some of my hobbies.

Other advice for students interested in gaining entry into and pursuing a career in this field:
I'm doing something completely different now than what I thought I was training for in college. The only thing I can say is that you never know
what is going to happen in your career; be prepared for anything.
