POK is a Peterbilt heavy-duty truck dealer. We sell trucks, parts, service, and finance at 4 locations in the Southeast. I am involved in a phases of general mgt and relations with our franchisor.

Suggestions I would give to undergraduate students with regard to courses, internships, and other means of preparation for my career field:
Take accounting for any career in business.

My career path in getting to this position:
Army officer, banking, 20 years mgt with PACCAR Inc, the company that builds Peterbilts, 7 years as a dealer principal.

Other advice for students interested in gaining entry into and pursuing a career in this field:
Truck dealerships are an unknown place of employment for those desiring a career in capital goods sales, etc.
