11th Annual Fall Job Fair: Public Service Careers Program

We are pleased to invite our Government and Nonprofit/Social Service employers to the University of Tennessee's 11th Annual Fall Job Fair at the Thompson-Boling Arena on September 16, 2008 from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm. This is your chance to meet informally with students from over 300 degreee programs to talk about a wide range of topics. This is a great opportunity to find the best and brightest talent for your career opportunities, as well as internships, co-ops, and summer jobs and volunteer work.

Public Service Careers Program

This year, Career Services' is designating a section of the fair to Public Service Careers. Due to popular demand from both students and employers, we are offering this new arrangement in order to increase knowledge and attention regarding careers in the public and non-profit sectors and to make employers more easily accessible to students and faculty.

How will my organization benefit from this new arrangement?

• The Public Service Careers section of the fair will receive specialized promotion and attention directed at students, alumni, and faculty interested specifically in the public and non-profit sectors.
• Intersted students will have the ability to RSVP and submit a resume to you via Hire-A-Vol prior to the Fair. You may choose to review these resumes and email these students in advance to request they visit your booth.
• Our Government and Nonprofit employers will be located in a section of Thompson-Boling Arena designated as “Public Service Careers” but easily accessible and visible to ALL students/alumni traffic.
• Government & Nonprofit employers will benefit from the expected attendance of 1600+ students and alumni of all majors attending the campus-wide fair. This will include students with prior interest in public service and those who may be introduced to these opportunities for the first time at the fair.
• Registration for Government and Nonprofit/Social Service Employers is discounted!

How do I register as a Government or Nonprofit Employer?

• Register online now by logging in to Hire-A-Vol. *Login to Hire-A-Vol and click on the Events tab then click on the Register button next to Fall Job Fair. When registering for the Fall Job Fair you simply select your industry to designate yourself as a Government or Nonprofit employer.
• If you do not have a free account on Hire-A-Vol you may follow these instructions to obtain one.
• Early registration ends August 15th, 2008. Late registration fee is an additional $100. Cancellation/refund deadline is August 31st, 2008.

SHIPPING INFORMATION:

All displays, product, etc. should be shipped directly to Thompson-Boling Arena. Be sure to mark your shipment with 'FALL JOB FAIR' and ask the shipper to deliver between Sept. 10-14. NOTE: The Arena will NOT accept items before Sept. 10, 2008.

RETURN SHIPPING: After the Fair, your displays can be picked up after 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 16th at the same address. We strongly suggest that you have your return shipping labels preprinted for easy return. IMPORTANT: YOU are responsible for contacting your shipper to arrange for pick-up. There is NO automatic pickup for your items.
