Politics/Public Policy/Think Tanks
Think Tanks
Think tanks are public policy research organizations from across the world that offer insight into a number of topics, fields, and worldviews. In the last few decades, think tanks have mostly shared a few of the same general purposes. They carry out basic independent research on public policy that concerns the region or community for which they operate (be it a continent, country, state, racial group, industry, etc.), they provide advice to policymakers on complex and important issues, and they evaluate government programs and practices.
Think tanks also serve as sources of new or exchanged ideas and research, and provide experience in policy to its members (employees, researchers, former policymakers, interns, etc.). Each think tank serves a specific purpose, but they all share in common a vision of service, knowledge, and influential improvement of their respective spectrums. If you are considering a career or a temporary opportunity in public service, a think tank may be the ideal experience for you.
