COURSE OBJECTIVE

BA 320 (Business Career Placement), offered by career services, is a course targeted to juniors and seniors interested in improving their job searching skills. This one-credit, pass/no credit course, equips students with the necessary tools to find and land that great job. Topics such as resume writing, behavioral interviewing, mastering the company visit, and negotiating are just a few of the critical areas covered. Students will learn what employers really look for in potential candidates. Several great companies visit this class. Past visitors included companies such as Pepsi Bottling Group, Frito Lay, NVR Homes, and more! Don't miss a great opportunity to get prepared for your future. "Failing to plan is planning to fail!" COURSE POLICIES

  1. The class is graded only on an S/NC basis.
  2. Assignments are to be completed and turned in on time, and should reflect satisfactory quality. Late assignments will receive only half credit.
  3. Attendance will be taken five times during the semester, at random. You must be present for at least four of these sessions. Absence from more than one of these sessions will result in a grade of NC for the course.
  4. The instructor will make herself available for appointments with students to discuss any topics related to their career goals or job seeking skills. She will also respond promptly to e-mail inquiries. (ktlown@utk.edu)
