Undergraduate Research

The University of Tennessee is classified by the Carnegie Commission as a research university with “very high research activity”. As a result, students have access to cutting-edge technologies, well-funded laboratories, and outreach opportunities for research experience.

Every year, more than 1,000 undergrads engage in research and creative achievement via summer internships, coursework, design studios, faculty projects, and independent studies through the Office of Undergraduate Research & Fellowships.
