View Jobs and Internships:
After login, select 1-Click Searches under Jobs & Internships on the top navigation bar. This heading combines jobs posted by employers who will come on-campus to interview, as well as web job postings (employers not interviewing on-campus). Employers who are recruiting on-campus will have a symbol denoting on-campus interview Symbol for on-campus interview under the "Interview" column of your search results. If the symbol is not there, the job is a web job listing and you need to contact the employer following the posted instructions.

On-Campus Interviewing vs. Web Job listings
Please note the separate tabs for Jobs and Internships.

On-campus Interviewing- You MUST abide by our No-Show Policy.

Note: you must be registered with Career Services before you are able to submit your resume for on-campus interviewing. If you are not registered, go to Register with us.

  • "1-Click Searches"(under Job & Internships)
After registering with Career Services, you will be able to access opportunities to interview on-campus with a variety of organizations. To search for jobs that will offer on-campus interviewing opportunities, you should use the "1-Click Searches" look for "jobs with upcoming interview schedules."
  • Basic Search or More Search Options
If you choose to search for jobs using Specific Search Filters, we recommend that you do not use multiple filters that will narrow the search. Many applicable job opportunities can be blocked out using filters. You can select the "Opportunities with Interview Schedules only" checkbox before searching.

If you are serious about interviewing on-campus, we recommend that you take the time to look through all on-campus interviewing opportunities.

IMPORTANT: Either way you decide to search, you may submit your resume and follow the on-screen instructions. In submitting your resume, you are only sending your resume to the employer for review. You will be required to check back under Applications to see if you were chosen for the interview, and if so, signup for a time slot. You MUST abide by out No-Show Policy. For these dates, check the Interview Time Schedule. The system will also send email reminders and notification, so make sure your email address is correct in your Profile section.

INTERVIEWING SAFETY

Career Services would love to see every graduate walk off campus into a wonderful job. In a competitive job market such as the current one, this does not happen. In fact, students sometimes resort to desperate measures to find employment. We hope that you will not ignore common sense and safety issues while engaging in your job search.

Your resume can fall into peoples' hands without your knowing about it. People who want to interview you are almost always representing themselves honestly but unscrupulous individuals could prey upon a student anxious to land a good job. As a result, you should be cautious in agreeing to meet people for interviews.

When interviewing on your own you need to pay attention to safety.

1. If someone wants to schedule an interview in a "private" place such as a hotel room or a personal residence, suggest a public place like a hotel lobby or a restaurant.
2. If someone you don't know wants to take you to an interview location or a worksite in an automobile, be cautious. Ask to see verifying identification and a business card.
3. If someone says they got your resume from Career Services and you are suspicious, please contact us and we'll look into it to the best of our abilities. If we can't find the specific referral we'll try to validate that the person is with the organization mentioned. One of the nice things about campus interviews is that they take place here in our facilities with our oversight.
4. Don't let anyone pressure you into doing something you don't feel comfortable doing. No job is worth the compromising your safety or principles.

If you have any questions or comments please feel free to contact Career Services and ask to speak to one of the professional staff.

Web Job Listings

  • Basic Search/More Search Options
Since there are so many more job listings than on-campus interview opportunities, you are probably best off using the Search Filter functions. Again, try to narrow down the results without blocking out good opportunities. Each job will have specific directions on how to apply directly to the employer. It is the employer's job to contact you after you apply for a job.
  • Tip For Finding Part-Time Jobs:
The search screen defaults to a Basic Search. Click on the link under Jobs that says "See More Search Options." There you can choose to view only part-time job postings.
The Help option, located at the top of the page is a good resource if you have questions about system navigation and explanations of the terminology used within the system. If you have any problems with the software, please contact career@utk.edu.
