Biography
Linda began working in the helping professions in various human service positions and as college and career liaison with the Rockford (IL) Public Schools.
Her experience in higher education began as a faculty member, teaching Developmental Reading and First-Year studies at institutions in Illinois and Ohio. She also spent several years teaching Women’s Studies at The University of Alabama. Ms. Smith began working at The University of Tennessee in January of 2018, as an Academic Coach in the Student Success Center and joined the Center for Career Development & Academic Exploration team in June of 2020. During her time at UT, she has served on the Diversity Inclusion Committee and participated in the inaugural University of Tennessee Inclusive Leadership Academy (UTILA). Linda enjoys teaching students how to discover and utilize all the resources available to them both on campus and in the community. In her spare time, she enjoys watching true crime television, spending time with family, hiking and reading.
