Biography

Malachi is an Academic and Career Exploration Coach who primarily works with exploratory first year and sophomore scholars who are choosing their majors and careers in individual and group settings. Malachi is passionate about assisting exploratory students, serving under-represented students, social justice, and advocating with and for all students at The University of Tennessee.

Prior to assuming this role, Malachi worked for South College as a Student Success Advisor, in which he promoted student learning and a student-focused experience by providing services, programs, and resources that assisted in student transition; aid in decision-making; and helped students achieve personal and academic progress and growth. Before his time at South College, Malachi worked for Tennessee Tech University as a Hall Director. He provided leadership, management, supervision, and development for a residence hall community; that fostered student success inside and out of the classroom and promoted personal and professional growth for residents. Malachi has been passionate about Student Affairs and Higher Education since his time as an undergraduate student and is passionate about inspiring students to grow and develop.

In his Free-time, Malachi enjoys traveling, sports, Starbucks, and spending time with his partner, Shih-Tzu, family, and friends.
